Alejandro Cuellar


Alejandro Cuellar, a young promising chef with creativity for the enrichment of the culinary world, successfully enters the Colombian gastronomy scene, bringing avant-garde trends with Columbian roots and flavors. As a spokesperson for Save the Children Colombia, he has contributed to social responsibility and nominated one of the 100 most outstanding Colombians in 2016 by Don Juan magazine. He is currently the executive chef of the catering company, where he specializes in events of high-class cuisine. He was former executive chef of Bogota Wine & Food Festival, and invited as a judge of ‘Master Chef Colombia’ and invited chef in ‘Master Chef Poland’. He has successfully combined Columbian culinary culture with the visual and harmonious arts which are perceived in textures, ingredients, aromas and flavors that with not only the palate, but all the senses of the most demanding diners.

How did you feel about joining JFWF 2019?

It was a great honor to participate in the event, and I was very happy to share the beauty of my native Colomby A with the Korean versatile chefs. If I have a chance, I want to come again.

What is the most important factor in cooking?

Being honest in cooking, and cooking with your heart is important. Respecting materials is also important.

Any advice for those who dream of a chef?

It’s a career that has a lot of pain physically and emotionally. And if you don’t constantly improve your skills, you’ll fall behind. But if you take it with passion, it’s a worthy path.
